The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My Father's God, and I will exalt Him. Exodus 15:2

Sewing and Picnics
We've had such fun today sewing! The kids have enjoyed this neat little project. First, I was inspired by Amanda Soule on her blog to have the kids make a drawing, preferably nature, and then trace onto fabric. They chose birds, after skimming through our favorite magazine, Nature Friend. O.K. then they stitched over the tracing. We added a border and it is amazingly beautiful!! Here are some pictures of the magazines and books we were searching through, along with a few of the kids working on their stitching.
Tomorrow I will post the pictures, we have a few last minute stitches to go!

Yesterday our Homeschool group met at the park for a picnic. The kids had a wonderful time playing kickball, tennis, shooting water guns, and some of them were brave enough to examine and disect this creature from the creek. Yikes!!!!

How Deep the Father's Love for Us
Our homeschool group presented their end of the year program last weekend and sang this beautiful song. I wanted to share the words with you, it's been on my heart and the melody on my lips ever since.
How Deep the Father's Love for Us
How deep the Father's love for us, how vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son, to make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss, the Father turned His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One, bring many sons to glory.
Behold the Man upon a cross, my sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice cal out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life; I know that it is finished.
I will not boast in anything; no gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ; His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart; His wounds have paid my ransom.
My oldest daughter and I went shopping for material for her quilt. I will be using the same pattern for the one I made my younger daughter. This is what she chose.

Nature Walk
The temperatures have been in the high 70's and low 80's the past few days and we are enjoying it so very much. Weather reports indicate a drastic change over the weekend, maybe even snow! Yikes! We have our neat little nature finds to remind us of sunny days ahead! We have been studying Fungi in Science and trying to find examples outside around the trees and woods. Too early for the mushrooms which we were looking for so we settled for these little bits of nature.
The end of our school year is near and we are looking forward to a relaxing summer break. Some of our adventures include: camping, missions trip, spending time with friends, family, and time to get caught up on sewing, rubber stamping and scrapbooking.
The beauty and smell of Spring is in the air. The trees are budding on our little crab apple tree and my neighbors lilac bush and it smells soooooo good when you're outside. Oh, how I love spring. I'm a little whimpy and stay inside in the air conditioning way too much in the hot summer days but I love being outside during spring!
We are off to the grocery store this evening and I hope to stop along the way to pick up a little fabric for the cutest tote I plan to make this weekend! Hope to have pictures soon.

Connected to the Vine
I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing.
John 15:5
Without the Lord in my life I know I can do nothing. I must daily walk in His ways, acknowledging He is my strength and will set my path straight. This is why it is so very important that we seek His face daily in quiet time. Praying, meditating on the scriptures and waiting on His answers. It's never easy to get up early, before my day begins and give the early morning hours to the Lord. However, when I do, he blesses me immensely! My goal this week is to rise early and have prayer time and reading in His word before we begin our day.
Praise God for all the wonderful blogs out there that are so encouraging and lifting up the name of Jesus! You are a blessing!
